Our Facilities Management division offers a wide range of services to commercial and residential clients for reactive and planned maintenance, right through to refurbishment and building installation.

An excellent opportunity has arisen for a Commodities Trader to work within our Waste Management department. The successful candidate with act as the main point of contact for customers and suppliers within the Commodities function.

Role Insight
  • Purchase recyclable materials i.e. cardboard, paper, plastics and polystyrene, at the best price from reliable sources, and consistent with established standards

  • Lead, negotiate and execute all sourcing activities for the commodities business

  • Tap into our established client-base as well as proactively identifying new business by way of proactive sales methods

  • Sell obtained recyclable materials to clientele such as reprocessors and brokers

  • Update Maximizer (CRM) with new customer details and quotations

  • Raise purchase orders via Microsoft Dynamics

  • Arrange for cost effective and efficient transportations of commodities

  • Attend site visits were necessary

  • Provide administration support to the Technical Waste team.

Key Skills/Qualifications required
  • Previous experience of working within the commodities or recycling industry would be advantageous

  • Computer literate with excellent MS office skills

  • Effective communicator with a good telephone manner

  • Entrepreneurial thinking

  • Negotiation skills and drive to look for cost improvement opportunities

  • Pro-active with the ability to independently drive and complete tasks

  • Excellent Commercial acumen
