Our Facilities Management division offers a wide range of services to commercial and residential clients for reactive and planned maintenance, right through to refurbishment and building installation.

Due to continued growth of our Contracting division, we are now looking to add an experienced Construction Planner to our highly effective and hardworking team. This will be working with market leading Tier 1 Main Contractors on schemes ranging from highways and infrastructure and commercial development, as well as public sector projects.

Role Insight
  • Production of weekly and monthly programmes in line with the client’s contractual requirements using an array of software such as Astra or Microsoft Project.

  • Review contract documents, specifications, scope and test schedules.

  • Plan project works and produce programmes from 1st principles of plant/ labour/ materials outputs.

  • Identify and assess programme risks and produce mitigation plans with project team.

  • Attending regular meetings with the client programme team to deliver collaborative planning.

  • Monitor progress and productivity. Produce reports detailing progress for client and internal stakeholders.

  • Identify enhancements to methodologies to improve completion date.

  • Liaise with client planning team, designers, subcontractors and third parties.

  • Production of records and project related documentation and communicate with relevant stakeholders with regards to development of project.

  • Produce as built programmes to show progress as well as client changes.

  • Produce programmes to demonstrate entitlement to loss expense claims or to defend counter claims.

Key Skills/Qualifications required
  • Recognised construction qualification.

  • Previous experience in a similar role within Construction

  • Earthworks experience desirable.

  • Understanding of typical construction contracts (NEC/ JCT etc).

  • Liaising with other members of the Contracting team such as Estimators, Buyers, Project Managers and Quantity Surveyors.

  • Confident communicator with experience of working with Tier 1 main contractors.

  • Excellent planning and time management skills with a systematic approach.

  • Analytical approach with the ability to recognise and drive improvements.

  • Knowledge of safety and environmental legislation.

  • Full UK Driving License required.
