Role Insight
Due to continued success, we are currently looking for a skilled and experienced Land Surveyor to join our rapidly expanding business. The purpose of this role will be to conduct surveying services at various locations throughout East Anglia and the Midlands. This will be a varied role which will find the successful candidate working on a wide range of projects such as land re-development and mining and quarrying.
• To carry out surveys and to create and assess construction plans throughout the lifecycle of the project.
• Using surveying instruments & GPS to map accurate coordinates of site features.
• Liaising with area quarry/ landfill managers, project managers and planners reference ongoing surveys and engineering project support.
• To produce digital plans of sites and mapping land use.
• To create 3-D models for machine control systems.
• To gather data and analyse site features. To store and distribute data accordingly.
• The monitoring of land movement and subsidence on Mick George Projects.
• The draughting of 2D & 3D maps using mapping and CAD software.
• To ensure all survey equipment is properly maintained.
• To support with applications for Local Authorities including the submission of technical drawings.
Key Skills/Qualifications required
• Excellent understanding of CAD is essential for drafts, As Built drawings, volumetric calculations/ earthworks estimations and general data preparation (N4CE or LSS desirable, however training will be provided).
• Knowledge if GIS software would be desirable.
• Knowledge of planning and environmental regulations.
• The ability to analyse and interpret geographical data and construction drawings.
• To be able to work under pressure and plan and prioritise workload without compromising high level of accuracy required. This role will often be working alone and therefore the successful candidate must be self-motivated.
• Strong presentation skills.
• Good understanding of Health and Safety.
• Excellent Maths, Science and Engineering skills.
• Full UK Driving License required.
